January 31st.

Whom God hath raised up.”

Acts 2:24

Christ rose by his own power as God, for He is the great “I AM” of Scripture:

Peter reminded them that Jesus of Nazareth, which they saw and heard preaching and teaching, was the God-man approved by God. For over three years, the multitudes had witnessed His mighty miracles, wonders, and signs, that God performed through Him, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Peter emphasized Christ’s humanity as he proceeded to talk of Christ’s sacrificial death on the Cross, for what seemed to be the greatest defeat of all time became the greatest victory when Christ arose from the grave. Christ paid the price for the sin of the world. Satan is now a defeated foe, defeated by Christ at the Cross of Calvary. Praise God that He did, now it is possible to spend eternity with Him. Salvation is free……

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosover believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

“The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.”

Psalm 7:8

The Hebrew root of integrity means, “whole, sound, unimpaired, entire.” It is the absence of double standards, deceit, hypocrisy. When under persecution David used the word in Psalm 7:8. Vindicate me, O Lord according to my…integrity.

When tempted, he said; Guard my soul and deliver me; Do not let me be ashamed, for I take refuge in Thee. Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I wait for Thee. (Ps. 25:20-21). When chosen to serve, he responded (God) also chose David His servant, And took him from the sheepfolds.

Even when elevated from the fields to the palace, David didn’t let it go to his head. He kept his integrity and passed it on to his son. Nothing is more permanent or obvious than a life lived with integrity, or the lack of it. May our lives be one of integrity.

“And now, Lord, what wait I for? My hope is in thee!”

Psalm 39:7

The psalmist says: “What do I now expect or hope for, for in thee alone, in thee only is my dependence and trust; and my expectation is from thee.”

Our great God is infinitely wise and can meet all our earthly needs, He loves us and cares for us, and He knows that we are but dust. Call upon Him in your times of distress and He will give you a peaceful heart and direct your thoughts toward Him.

The Lord hears the prayers of His own!

January 28th

“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Psalm 27:14 and Isaiah 40:31.

The phrase, ‘to wait on the Lord,’ means to wait for his help; that is, to trust in him, to put our hope or confidence in him for He is faithful.  When we find ourselves in a state or place of danger or confusion or want, we look to Him for his merciful help.

And as believers in Jesus Christ, we who trust in Him shall become strong in faith; and will be able to contend with our spiritual enemies, and face the trials of life. God gives His people who trust in Him strength. Our victories are not in ourselves, but in Him. In the spiritual warfare, the weapons we fight with are not of this world. They are spiritual weapons with divine powers to destroy strongholds.

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

“Fear not, believe only, and she shall be made whole.”

Joshua 1:9 and Luke 8:50a

As believers in Jesus Christ we have a choice between two: fear and faith. Fear is the virus that destroys our mind and our thinking. But faith is the vaccine that cures it.

Fear is like a CHAIN!

Do not let fear be a chain about your neck, trust in the Lord for our lives are in His hands. Only what goes through the Lords will for our lives will enter. And whatever that may be, we need remember that He is a loving Father whose desire is for our best. He is making us, believers, into the image of His dear Son, Jesus Christ. Praise His Holy Name!

“Even him, whose coming is after the working of satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.”

II Thess. 2:9

Power to preform miracles or the seeming reality of them are not evidences that they are of God. Satan has this type of power also. When the Lord led the Israelites out of Egyptian bondage the evil ones power seemed to duplicate that of the Lord. However satin’s power was limited, for he also is a created being. Many Christians are deceived by miraculous signs, but if they relied on God’s word instead of experiences this would not happen. Our experiences can and will lead us astray, away from the truth of the Word of God and into the deception of the evil one. The Word of God is a lamp unto my feed and a light unto my path. It will guide us into proper understanding of God’s ways, for experiences can and will lead us into all kinds of ungodly beliefs and lifestyles.

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: If it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

John 14:1-3

There is no fact in history that is more clearly established than the first advent of the Lord Jesus Christ-the Babe in the manger in Bethlehem. It is very clear that there must be a second coming of Christ, His first coming did not fulfill all of the Old Testament prophesies which have to do with His coming, There must and will be a second coming at which time all the Old Testament prophecies will be fulfilled. So keep looking up, keep your heart with His heart, make His will your will. For the day will surely come when:

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God.”

I Thess. 4:16a

This is not a “pie in the sky” hope, it is reality. He is coming for His own, and it could be at any instant. Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus.”

“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision.”

Psalm 2:1-4

The world is and has always had those who have hated the Lord. They seek to blot Him out of the society. Take down crosses, Bible reading in the schools not allowed, telling others of Christ an offense. They set themselves against the creator and sustainer of the universe. How foolish to believe that we as mere human beings can take counsel against the awesome God of the universe. Christ came the first time to save men, when he returns the second time He will laugh at their foolishness and will have them in derision. The foolishness of man tries to destroy the Lord, however he shall laugh for their breath are in His hands.

“Then the fire of the Lord fell,…When all the people saw it, they fell on their faces, and they said, the Lord, He is God.”

I Kings 18:38,39

Faith begins in the hearts of men and women when they experience the power and presence of God. In this present day, as in days pass men forget God and who He is. When the fire has gone out of the pulpit, as it has in so many churches today, then we do not see sinners weeping in the aisles as in the past. When the pulpit strays from the Word of God so do the people. When the people stray from the Word of God so does the nation. When the nation strays from the Word of God evil men and women control the reins of the country. When this happens freedom is removed and bondage begins. Where is the fire of the pulpit? May it return and convict sinners of their sins, and believers of who their Saviour is. Only the fire of the Word of God burning in hearts will save this nation!

“Then Samuel answered, speak for thy servant heareth.”

I Samuel 3:10

Are our ears open to hear and obey the command of the Lord? God is looking for men and women who have “ears to hear” who will hear and who He can use as His instruments. Most have “ears to hear” but “do not hear”, “eyes to see”, but “do not see”. We are responsible to hear the “Word of God” and its commands and to open our hearts to it. He uses those who hear and obey. Are we willing to obey and to be used of God?
