Daily Devotionals-September 30th and October 1st 2021

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” II Corinthians13:5

The most important thing in your life and in my life is assurance of our salvation. But are you really and truly saved. Make sure of that fact! Once you die it is too late, the decision has already been made and it cannot be changed. Our eternal salvation is too important to guess or hope about. Place your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, ask Him for forgiveness of your sins, place your faith and trust in Him and you will be eternally secure.

“From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.” Psalm 61:2-3

When we hide beneath the rock, Christ Jesus, the storm falls upon Him, not us! The Rock, Jesus Christ, cannot be moved and so we are safe!

September 28th

“For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.” James 3:16

Nothing will rob you of happiness and shorten your life like strife! And strife is born of envy; and they bring confusion into our lives. Do not envy another, but seek to live a peaceable life as much as is possible. Strife is a thief! It not only shortens our lives it brings forth unhappiness and is born of envy.

September 27th

“in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.” Psalm 57:1b

When there is trouble all around and the storms rage on it is good to flee to the protecting wings of God until it is over. If we wait on the Lord the sun will shine again. For He is our protector and sustainer and there is no safer place than to be under the protective wings of our Loving God.

September 26th

That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor;” I Thessalonians 4:4

How do we do in controlling our bodies? Do we allow sins and lusts to overrun our lives and control us? God wants us to possess or control our bodies and our thoughts in order for us to live in purity of life. Allow the spirit of God to have control and feed our minds with Gods word daily and yield to Him. That is the way of peace, joy and purity and holiness of life.

September 24th and 25th

“And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.” Hebrews 6:15

Success, in business or in the Lord’s service is never easy! Nothing can be accomplished that has any worth if we become discouraged and quit during the heat of the battle. It takes perseverance, so do not give up in the Lord’s work.

September 23 rd

“Five boys, playing in the woods one winter day, decided to see who could make the straightest set of tracks in the snow. They were very careful to put one foot directly in front of the other, but when they had crossed the clearing, one track was curved, one was crooked, and two were almost zigzag. Only one boy had a straight track. When they asked him how he did it, he replied that he had not looked at his feet; he had picked out a tree across the clearing and had walked straight toward it.
If we are to leave a straight track in our daily walk, we must not have our minds centered on ourselves. We must fix our gaze upon the Lord Jesus Christ. We are to “run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus…”

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11

How many times do we flee from satan instead of with standing him. God wants us to stand and not retreat when under attack.  Are you fully clothed in the Spiritual Armor of God.  Notice there is no armor for the back of the Christian.  We are not to retreat.  Put on the armor of God every day, that is our only protection.

September 20 & 21st

Add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;” II Peter 1:5

Salvation is a wonderful gift, one which most of the world ignores. For Salvation is not of works but of faith, and there is only one way to receive this most wonderful gift, and that is through the God-Man Jesus Christ. For there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved, and that is Jesus Christ. But we must not stop at salvation no matter how wonderful it is. We must keep growing spiritually. Keep growing through prayer and stuy of His Word until His will becomes our will!

September 18th and 19th

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9

We should not become impatient when we don’t see immediate results from our praying and our work. It takes time for the Lord to work in hearts. Look at how long it takes our own hearts to see results from our own prayers.

September 17th

And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.” Exodus 14:13

Its amazing how fast our circumstances can change. Even our most formidable foes can be destroyed in a moment, and those we feared may disappear forever. For God is able to change our situation in a moment, so put your trust and faith in Him.

September 16th

Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Luke 12:32

Our Father in heaven enjoys bestowing gifts upon His children. He gives us the kingdom while we are still on earth, and in the future we will literally be there. For those who trust Christ as their Saviour heavens blessings will be just as real as the world we live in now. But there will be no death, unhappiness or sorry, we will enjoy eternity with our Lord and blessings beyond our imaginations.

September 15th

” Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” Romans 13:1

The lawlessness that grips the world is communist inspired. Christians, who obey the Lord cannot and will not take part in lawlessness, which is inspired by atheism, which is inspired by the evil one, satan! To do so is sin and will require discipline by the Lord. Preach the truth, teach the truth of the Word of God, that is the solution. Truth drives out lies and communism is a lie from the pit of hell.

September 14th

“And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee…… in the wilderness… to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart.” Deuteronomy 8:2

Do you and I truly love the Lord, and if so, How much? God has ways of finding out how much we love Him, and also allows us to see that also. There are times when He deliberately leads us through the desert to discover the sincerity of our hearts. He already knows, but in His mercy and wisdom He allows us to see our own hearts. What a wise and merciful God we serve!

September 13th

“And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah.” I Kings 17:16

We (believers in the Lord Jesus Christ) should never want for the necessities of life. God has promised to meet our every need in Christ, but to claim this promise we must put God first in our lives. “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to thee.” Matthew 6:33

September 12th

“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?” Psalm 2:1

Those who hate God seem to be increasing in the world today. But until hearts are changed we are an enemy to God, it is only a change of heart that makes the difference. Atheism’s hate is unreasonable, and without hope of success and behind it is the evil one himself. The hatred against God is foolishness, for in Him and Him only is life and liberty and eternal life. Pray for those who do not know Christ and whose end will only be the pit where the flame never dies and where there is eternal hopelessness.

September 11th

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God,and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

If we follow our own way sin our own strength we will miss what the Lord has for us. The most important way is to “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.” When life is over there will be no regrets if we live life in this manner.

September 10th

“And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.”

Some pray and don’t expect an answer, and they do not receive an answer. Faith is an essential ingredient of prayer. If we pray believing and pray within the will of the Lord we will receive an answer. So pray in faith, believing!

September 9th

“For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.” Isaiah 54:10

How sure is our salvation in the Lord and how sure are our blessings in Him. God’s word never changes, as God never changes and His words are true and faithful. Our salvation and blessings are as sure as the sun which shines upon the earth. His blessings will never fail, and as believers we will spend all eternity with Him. What a blessed hope, what a blessed surety!

September 8th

“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”

Don’t overlook the little things in life or feel they are unworthy of your time. Be faithful in what may seem small or little or unimportant in your life. Be faithful in these things and God will open up new areas of service in your life. We should remember that anything we do is worth doing it well.

September 6th

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

Isn’t it wonderful that all believers will receive a new glorified body at the resurrection. It will be a body that will never experience the signs of aging we now deal with. It will be a body like our Saviour Jesus Christ and we will spend eternity with Him and all the blessings which He will give to all those who have placed their faith and trust in Him.

August 30th

August 29th

“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;” Ecclesiastes 3:27

Today is the day to place your faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. For the evil days are right around the corner. Old age seems like a far distance away, but one day you will awake and it will be upon you. Serve the Lord while you have strength and the ability to do so. We never know how our health will be as we draw nearer the end of our lives. So be wise and remember your creator and serve Him.

August 26th

My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.” Proverbs 3:1-2

The Lord is the one who gives us length of days, long life and peace.  If we follow His way we find that life is worthwhile, that we have a reason to live.  Hopelessness follows those that have no purpose in life, but the Lord has a purpose for His children.  When we come to the end of our lives there will be peace to those who place their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and have lived as He desired.  Since He is the one who grants life, and gives life, does it not only seem right that we send our lives living for Him.

August 23 to 25th

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10

God’s Word never returns void, it always preforms His will. Whenever we teach or preach or give the Word of God to anybody, we need not fear that it is in vain, for we can be certain that it will do what God intends. It is our job to give the Word of God. We plant and water with the Word, but the Lord gives the increase.

August 22nd.

“And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.” Galatians 5:24

It tells us that believers have crucified the flesh, not that we should. It is not talking about a physical beating or crucifying of that type but of a spiritual nature. It takes power from the Holy Spirit with a dedication and an act of our will. Our flesh will never be good for it always has a desire or cravings for the things of the world and not of the Lord. What we feed grows, and if we feed the flesh with carnal desires which we have inside, it will win over us. If we feed the new nature from the Lord by reading the “Word of God”, spending time with Him and prayer, the flesh will not win over us and our lives will be pleasing to the Lord.

August 21st

And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.” James 5:18

Elijah was a man with passions just like us. The Lord had him pray for no rain for judgment on the land, but then He had him pray for rain, and it rained and the earth brought forth its fruit. We have times of drought and times of plenty in our lives. We need to pray not only during times of lack, but also in times of plenty. For the Lord works in our lives during each of these periods of time, working to make in into the image He desires us to be. And that image is of the Lord Jesus Christ. So come to Christ and watch as the Lord works in your life to make you into what He wants you to be!

August 20th

“howbeit our God turned the curse into a blessing.“Nehemiah 13:2b

God is an Awesome God! He has ways of turning cursing against us into blessings. He is able to make everything into blessings and to our benefit. So when things go wrong look to Him, for He will make evil to become good for us. He is able to make even our enemies who curse us bless us!

August 19th

“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: “ Psalm42:5

Do we worry, do we fret, if we do so we are not trusting our Lord! God supplies all our needs, He takes cares of the birds of the air giving them their food and shelter, and the beasts of the field He feeds them also, are we not better than they are? When we place our faith and trust in Him life takes on a new glow. For their is joy amid the problems in life. Will He not take care of us also?

In I Peter 5:7 the Lord tells us “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” For our hope is in Him who loves us and cares for us. When we look at life and all that is happening around us remember that He has everything under control. He knows the beginnings from th end, we need simply to trust Him. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6.

August 18th

“The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the Lord was with him, and that which he did, the Lord made it to prosper.” Genesis 29:33

God was with Joseph and He prospered him no matter whether he was a slave or in prison. Whoever God chooses to bless, that person is blessed, and whoever God chooses to curse that person is cursed. But there are conditions to His blessings or cursing. If we follow His will, walk in His ways with all our heart, all our body, all our spirit and all our soul, then He will bless us. If we deny Him and walk in our own will, disobeying His will for our lives then He will curse us. Are not blessings much better than cursing. Come to Christ and walk in His ways, and what a blessing you will have and what a blessing you will become to others.

August 17th

“And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.” Exodus 14:13

Situations can change quickly! Our most formidable enemies can be wiped out in an instant, and those that we fear can disappear forever. God is able to change our situation, we must trust Him and bring our life back into His will, not our will! For in the second book of Kings 19:35:

“And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the Lord went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

36 So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.

We serve an awesome God, one who should be feared by those who do not put their faith and trust in Him. We who trust Him need to bring our lives into submission to His will. For He is no hard taskmaster, and He will take care of us.

August 16th

“We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.” Numbers 13:31b

We will either conquer the giants in our lives or they will conquer us! There is only one way to conquer those giants which so easily beset us, and that is by faith. If we lack faith then our struggle will be a hopeless one. For those whose Jesus Christ is their Saviour, faith is the way of conquering our day to day struggles. Without Christ thought, there is no hope of ever overcoming those giants which control us. Faith is the victory, and the power is that of the Holy Spirit, plus we have to be walking in obedience to our Saviour. Overcoming those areas of our lives and being made into the image of Christ is a lifelong struggle. Don’t give up, keep at it, study, pray, read and stay under the control of the Spirit which will guide us into all truth.

Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.” I Corinthians 7:23

Jesus paid a great price to free us from slavery, His Blood! Believers belong to Him. We must not allow our former master, satan, to use us for his cause of sin. All we are and all we have should be devoted to Christ.

August 14th

“If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.” Daniel 3:17

The three Hebrews did not tell the king that the Lord would deliver them, they said “He is able to deliver them.” They were willing to die or to live for their beliefs. For most this situation would lead to death and they knew it. They knew that whatever would happen in the next few moments was the will of the Lord for them. Are you and I yielded in our lives to the point we are willing to give our lives according to His will for us?

And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.” Hebrews 6:15

Patience is tough for all of us. Especially when times are difficult and seemingly impossible. But God rewards those that are patient. He seldom rewards us with His blessings until we have been tested and proved. Not so much for Him to know how we will handle adversity and problems, for He already knows, but so we may understand what truly is in our own hearts. We must learn to value His blessings and promises. We need to seek His wisdom and His understanding, and in all our ways obey Him. For His blessings only come in that way! So trust and obey the Lord!

August 13th

Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.” Exodus 16:4

God has promised to supply your every need; “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19, and our greatest need of all is a Saviour. Christ Jesus, is the bread from heaven, and He supplies the needs of the human heart.

August 11th

“And the Lord said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?” Numbers 14:11

There is no reason or excuses for people to not believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Look around and see the blue sky, the clouds, the intricacy and design of what we call nature. The variety of fruit and vegetables, the flowers, thousands of varsities and design. Look at our bodies, marvelously designed. We have His written words and proof of His resurrection. To deny what He has made, to deny Him as the Lord, God almighty that He is, is the greatest sin, the worst that can be done. He offered salvation, as a free gift. Won’t you accept it. He is waiting, just believe on the Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity and you will spend eternity with Him, with blessings and beauty beyond compare.

August 10th

I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.

36 Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.

Time is a great healer.  The evil ones of this earth will face death as each and every other person will, for all flesh will pass away.  Right will always prevail in the end.  The evil ones will destroy themselves, their end will be the lake of fire with all those who reject Jesus Christ as their Saviour.  However, the heartache and destruction and misery they cause in their rabid lust and desire for wealth and power, and superiority will cause countless sorrow, tears, misery and pain.  In the end they will be recompensed for all the horror they cause by the Judge of the Universe, Jesus Christ!  If you are one who is of this sort, think about your end, when you stand before the one who is able to punish and will punish both your body and soul in hell (the Lake of Fire.)

“but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”  Matthew 10:28b

Remember; No one ever gets away with evil.  For the Lord of this earth keeps good records of every evil deed done by each and every human being who has ever lived on this earth.  We cannot pull the wool over Christ’s eyes, for He sees all, knows all and will recompense the evil for what they do and what they have done.

Be wise, accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your saviour and live as He desires.  What heartache would be saved in the world if everybody did so!

August 9th

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” Isaiah 26:3

As long as we keep our eyes on the Lord we will have perfect peace even amid the storms. Why? Because we are trusting in the only true living God. Place your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, and amid all the problems in this life, there will be an inner peace and Joy!

August 7th and 8th

“For mine eyes have seen thy salvation” Luke 2 :30

Our salvation is in a person. Jesus Christ the God-man. To know Him, to trust Him, to commit our all into His keeping, to receive Him into your heart, to live there and dwell forever, is to be saved.

August 6th

And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient” II Timothy 5:25

A quarrelsome or argumentative spirit or approach will not only defeat your message, it will also refute it. We must be careful that we don’t produce a spirit of hate instead of love in our hearers. Our duty is to make others Christlike, by demonstrating Christ in our daily walk and manner of life!

August 5th

“Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.” I Thessalonians5:24

Jesus never fails.  God never calls us to do something for Him that He doesn’t also make it possible to do. The future may seem obscure and impossible, but if we are in God’s will, He will give us the means to do it and will open the door.

August 4th

“For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,” I Thessalonians5:9

God’s wrath will eventually come upon all those who have rejected Him.  For He has not appointed this wrath upon His children.  As believers in Jesus Christ we can rest in assurance that we will see His eternal blessings in eternity and not wrath.  For that is stored up for those who have rejected His Son Jesus Christ and  the salvation wrought at the Cross of Calvary for all mankind.

August 1st

(God) Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;” Hebrews 1:2

The revelation of God was in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, God in flesh.  This is the greatest revelation that the Universe has ever seen.  Do not deny this revelation, do not reject it. To reject the God of this universe, the only true and living God, is the greatest of all sins! Be sure to heed His message of love and salvation which He made possible for every human being. To reject it will mean total darkness for all of eternity.

July 30th

Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” Psalm 37:4

If we love the Lord, if we delight in Him, He will give us the desires of our heart, for our desires will then be His desire. The Lord always desire the best for us.  But we must first “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ”.  We must obey the Word of God and the direction of the Holy Spirit in our lives.  We must commit our way to Him, living in obedience to His will and then patiently wait for God as He works in our lives.  This is how to “delight” ourselves in the Lord.

July 28th

Acts 27:15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up under the wind, we let her drive.”

When you are up against the mighty winds and hurling waves there is not much you can do but try to ride out the storm.  We can’t fight against all the problems in life, however, we can let go and let God take care of us and our problems.  Life is full of problems, but if we allow the Lord to work them out we will not become frustrated and unfruitful in our lives.

July 27th

“After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the voice which I heard … said, Come up hither”  Revelation 4:1

In an instant John was in the presence of the King of the Universe.  When the Lord calls us home we will be there in an instant!  Our estate will then change from the earth to our heavenly home where we will see the face of our Saviour Jesus Christ.  What a blessing that will be. The problems and tribulations of earth will then be over.  Be patient in this life, live it as the “Word of God” tells us.

July 26th

“I was afraid and went and hid thy talent in the earth.” Matthew 25:25

Do you dread and fear the coming of the Lord?  If that is the case then your heart is not right you should fear His coming!  Those who have placed their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ will not fear His coming.  For it will be a joy to them.  Don’t wait until it is too late.  Survey your life and see that your need of Christ is great.  He will not push away any who come to Him in faith with a true and sincere heart.  “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.”

July 25th

“But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.” Ephesians 4:7

Everything we have, everything we can do, whatever we are was given to us by Christ.            Without Him we can do nothing, so we should never be proud or boastful in anything that we do or succeed in. We must understand our complete and utter dependence on Him.

And we must never cease to marvel that He uses us. And yet He has given each believer a race to run for Him. Let us never fail in that race, and put our dependence on the Holy Spirit for the strength and guidance we need.

July 23rd

“Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.” Psalm 19:12

Secret faults (errors) are sins we commit that we do not see or understand that they are sins. We commit these sins without realizing it. For we cannot see our own faults, they are too close us, and we are prejudice in our own favor. We need someone from the outside to point them out to us. Presumptuous sins are willful sins, ones we do knowing commit. That is where the Holy Spirit comes and points them out. He convicts us of not only those sins we commit willingly but also to those we do not realize are sins.

Those who love the Lord and desire to walk in His ways are concerned about committing sin in their lives. And not only that but ridding ourselves of even the hidden sins and the sins which we do not understand are sins in our lives. Do not ignore the convictions and promptings of the Holy Spirit, for He is God Himself, and desires us to be Holy as He is Holy!

July 22nd

“Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.” Joshua 13:1

It’s a wise thing to look over our lives and survey the past and the coming future as well as the present. What needs to be done in our lives, and how long may we expect to live. Remembering that life may end at any moment. We should plan our life carefully and not waste our time. But especially don’t neglect to do the most important things in life. And the most important choice in life is to “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.” Eternity is long, and where we spend it will either be a time of tremendous joy and blessings or a time of eternal punishment and despair. So do not make the wrong choice. Choose the Lord Jesus Christ, give your heart and life to Him, you will never regret it, not in this present life, and especially not in the coming life

July 21st

“thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink.” Exodus 17:6b

God offers water to every person, and it is free. It flows from the cross upon which He gave His life a sacrifice for all of humanity. All you must do is drink of it. Place your faith and trust in Christ as the one who paid the price of your sin debt. Eternal life is free, it coms from Christ, won’t you accept it today.

July 20th

“But the word of the Lord endureth for ever.” I Peter 1:25

Endureth forever – Is unmoved, fixed, permanent. Amidst all the revolutions on earth, the fading glories of natural objects, and the wasting strength of man, the Lord’s truth remains unaffected. Its beauty never fades; its power is never enfeebled. The gospel system is as lovely now as it was when it was first revealed to man, and it has as much power to save as it had when first applied to a human heart. (Barnes notes on the bible)

July 19th

“And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up. Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing:” Luke 18:21 and 22a.

Try as hard as you may, discipline yourself every day, but you will still fall short. You will not be perfect. There is no way to be perfect, for we are not perfect and neither is anything that we do. The only perfect one is Jesus Christ. But to be with the Lord we have to be perfect. What a delimni. Place your faith in Christ, ask Him forgiveness of your sins with a true heart and you will receive His perfection. For, God the Father, when He sees one who has placed their faith in His Son, (Jesus Christ), he sees Christ’s perfection and not the individuals imperfectin and sin. That is the only way to be with the Lord.

July 18th

“If the Lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us? Judges 6:13

Do you find it easy to lose faith and doubt God in times of trouble. God allows troubles to come into our lives for our good. A whetstone is needed to sharpen a knife and troubles are necessary to make us into what Christ wants us to be.

July 127th

“Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:” Matthew 25:34

Before God ever created the heavens and the earth and us, He had a plan already in place. And He will carry out those plans no matter what anybody tells you or what man may try to do. For He is the Sovereign God, and He rules over all!

“And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.” Luke22:2

They claimed to love God, they claimed they were part of God’s servants. But they planned to kill Jesus Christ, God in flesh. However they were of satan, for it is he who wants to kill Christ. They were satans servants. Do you hate Christ, if so then you are part of satans multitude and will reside with him in the lake of fire forever. Turn to Christ, place your faith and trust in Him, for He is the Amighty God.

July 15th

“The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.” Lamentations3:25

It’s easy to get ahead of the Lord, but it is not good for us to do that. We can find ourselves in trouble if we do so. The Lord is good to them that wait upon Him. We need to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us, and we need to be patient until the Lord is ready to give us His direction. For the Lord is very good to those that seek Him.

July 14th

“He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.  Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.” Psalm 147:4-5.

How awesome is our God. Psalm 147 verses four and five give us a glimpse. We with our telescopes are not able to even see a small fraction of the stars that exist. Yet our Lord knows each one by name . He knows the number of hairs we each have on our heads. There is nothing He does not know. His power is beyond measure. For He called into existence all that is. He hung the planets on nothing. He ordered it and it obeys His commands. The only ones to not obey the Lord is mankind. The one with such awesome power, His Holiness and righteousness are beyond compare. Should we not give our hearts and lives unto one such as He?

July 13th

“Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle,” II Peter 1:14a

We should always keep in our minds that we must all die. Our physical bodies will one day for each of us give way to the enemy death. Doesn’t it make sense that we should live our lives now in light of that. For we shall all spend eternity either with the Lord or without Him. Since there will be blessings only with Him, should we not serve Him! For Christ said “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6.

July 12th

“For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. “ II Corinthians 12:8

Christ prayed in the garden also three times, but the Father did not remove the bitter cup which He was to drink. Pray about every trouble, but be ready to accept God’s will always. For He knows what is best.

July11th

I Corinthians 9:24 “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.”

Run that we may obtain. Each believer is in a race. That race is what the Lord has for each believers to do. It is God’s will for our lives, and it is very important. We should all search our hearts, read scripture, pray and trust the Lord. He will give us the direction He wants us to go. But it must agree with scripture. If it is in against Scriptural principles, we know it was not from Him. So trust the Lord for His guidance and run with patience the race that is set before each us.

July 10th

“Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;” Romans 12:12

Rejoicing in Hope, that doesn’t sound very good! Not unless you are a child of God, then hope is not , I hope, I hope, it is a surety. AIl that is promised will happen, there is nothing which can stop it. Tribulation for a believer, even though it is no fun, is used by the Lord to make us into what He wants us to be. Prayer, we are to pray always. In other words talk with God every day, wait for Him, trust in Him, For every word of Scripture that He has given us will come to pass.

June 9th

“Destruction and misery are in their ways:” Romans 3:16

Life without Christ has no reason nor hope, and is a life with a final destruction. It’s end is total hopelessness. But the Christian life, no matter the problems on this earth is a life with hope. It will give an eternity of peace, joy and happiness. So choose wisely! Choose Christ and your eternity will not be hopelessness, but filled with hope.

July 8th

“And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.” John 6:39

You may feel lost, or lonely or depressed today. Or you may be facing serious illness that may take your life. You may wonder what is going to happen when your life ends. You would like security, but there is little security. Doctors do what they are able, but not all illnesses and diseases and injuries are able to be healed. If you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, ask forgiveness of your sins then you will have security. Life will end on this earth for every one of us someday. But those who place their trust in Jesus Christ have nothing to fear from death. For He will never leave us or forsake us. He will raise us up at the last day, and we will spend eternity in His glorious presence, enjoying all the good that He will bestow upon us.

July 7th

“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;” Hebrews 2:3

The truth is, “We shall not escape.” If we neglect Christ, if we reject Christ’s payment of salvation for each of us then there is no escape. Many disregard and snear at this, however, when life on this earth ends the truth will then be seen and known. However, it will be too late. We have one life in which to accept Christ as our Lord and Saviour, if we don’t then we will have to pay the penalty ourselves. For Christ is the only way, there is no other way to God, for eternal life.

June 6th

“His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant:” Matthew 25:21a

When we do something it is worth doing well, especially what we do for the Lord. Do we work for the Lord haphazardly, or do we do it with quality. If we do it carelessly we will not hear “Well done thou faithful servant.” Let’s strive to serve our saviour the best we are able with the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit.

July 6th

“There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel:” Joshua 11:22

Do we still have giants in our lives that need to be conquered? God can give us deliverance from those sins that so easily beset us. We can have complete deliverance through Him. Go to Him in prayer, trust Him, take in His Word and allow the “New Life” of the Spirit to root out that which God does not want in our lives!

July 3rd

“For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.” Psalm 27:5

There is no way we can escape trouble and problems. Whether they be health related or otherwise life is full of them. But, we can find a refuge in these times. That refuge is the Lord Jesus Christ! Won’t you come unto Christ and place your faith and trust in Him. You will never regret it!

July 2nd

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ is the same today as He has always been, He never changes! His demands for a nation is righteousness and truth. Where do we stand in these areas? Righteousness not very well, truth not very well either. A nation who leaves God’s demands will find itself just as all other past empires of this earth. There is nothing left of them but remains of their civilizations. We have told Christ that we do not want Him in our nation. If that is the over whelming consensus of this nation, then this nation will cease to exist. First as a world power, and then as any power. We will eventually become dust and remains with archaeologists examining our earthly remains.

July 1st

“Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.” Psalm 27:3

If I commit myself wholly to God , trusting Him completely to protect and keep me under all circumstances, knowing that He will do what is best for us, we will have peace. For He loves us and only desires the best for us, now matter what the circumstances around us bring. In so doing He will give us the direction in which He wants us to go.

June 30th

“These all continued with one accord in prayer” Acts 1:14a

Prolonged and continued prayer is almost unheard of these days. Yet with the condition of our nation it is needed more today than almost any other time in our country. It is only as we get down on our knees in prayer and humility and obedience to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ can there be any healing to this nation.

June 28th and 29th

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13

For those who truly want the Lord He will be found. He never rejects a true seeking heart. His thoughts of His children are for their good. Our future will be with Him in the never ending paradise and will see Him face to face. What a glorious day that will be.

June 27th

“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:” Colossians2:6

When we accept Christ as our Saviour we are saved, however, this does not end our experience of being a Christian. The experience actually only has just begun. It is a life long struggle , one in which we are to walk controlled by the Spirit of God. We are to walk as Christ would walk for all our lives. Only through the study of the Word of God will we know what that is to be. Read His word and allow His Spirit to guide you. This is the life experience of being a Christian.

June 26th

“And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.” James 3:6, 8

The tongue though it is a small member of the body is a divisive fire. The man or woman who is able to control his tongue is able to control his body. For ultimate control of our tongue it must be by the Holy Spirit of God ruling in our lives. Not only will the tongue be brought under control, but the heart also. Only God can do this. Therefore place your faith in Jesus Christ and allow Him to rule in your life. In this way He will put out the fire which the tongue has started.

June 25th

“For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.” John 16:27

The Father truly loves those that love Christ! Do you really love Christ? Have you ever truly given your heart to Christ, asked Him forgiveness of your sins. If not then you are not one of His children. Today ask Him forgiveness of your sins, give your heart to Him, for all who call upon Christ with a true heart will be saved. Do it today! Tomorrow could be too late!

June 23rd & 24th

” But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.” II Peter 2:1

Just as there were false prophets among Israel, we have them today. They shall teach perversion, ungodly deeds, lies, which will ultimately destroy a country. When someone is taught to detect counterfeit money from real money, they do not study the counterfeit, they study the real thing. Study the truth of God’s word and you will understand counterfeit truth. Know the truth and deceivers will not have an inroad to your mind and heart. False teachers of the Word of God deny the deity of Christ, and their deceptive heresies will be uncovered.

June 22nd

“By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.” Proverbs 33:6-9

The Lord through the power of His Word created the heavens and all the angels, planets, solar systems and all that exist in the heavens. He brought the seas together on the earth, His power is unimaginable to us, for He is the Almighty God. There is nothing which He cannot do. He spoke and it was finished. Should we not give praise and honor to Him, for He is Worthy.

June 21st

“Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord.” Lamentations 3:40

Every day we should take inventory of our souls. Do we not take inventory of our finances, seeing whether our debts outweigh our income, thus threatening financial ruin. If we allow sin to build up in our souls ours power will be quenched. When we find sins we should confess them and ask forgiveness and cleansing. Then our joy and power to win souls will return. Not our power but the power of the Holy Spirit within our lives.

June 19th

“Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.” Hebrews 11:33

With God all things are possible. When King Hezekiah was threatened by Sennacherib and blaspheming the Lord, Hezekiah feel to his knees in prayer and worship. The next morning God struck down 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. The power of God dwarfts all the power we have here on this earth. He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords and He is the Almighty God.

June 18th

“To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.” Titus 3:2

When we speak evil against a person many times we cause ourselves a lot of problems. The Lord tells us to speak evil of no man. What a different world it would be if we all took this advice from the scriptures. When we speak evil of someone we make an enemy of them to ourselves and never help them. Prayer is the much better way of changing the heart. Let theHoly Spirit do the work. If they do not listen to the Holy Spirit then the Lord is theone thay are fighting against.

June 14th

“And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.” Zechariah 13:6

Christ was wounded and crucified by those that seemed to be His friends. He came to save us, to pay our sin debt. And that He did. As long as we have breath we may come to Christ and receive His free gift of salvation. It is available to every human being. For God so loved the world so much, meaning you and me, that He sent His one and only beloved son, Jesus Christ to be a payment for our sin debt. Simply believe on the Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity with your heart, and all who do so will spend eternity with Him enjoying His blessings and goodness. Once our life is ended on this earth; salvation can no longer be embraced. Once our eyes close in death, those who refuse this free gift will have to pay for their own sins in the Lake of Fire for all eternity. Be wise, come to Christ, be not like those who seemed to be His friends but rejected Him.

June 12th

And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.” Deuteronomy 28:2

If we are a believer and are obedient to Christ we cannot escape His blessings. God loves His own and will bless them. We need be thankful for all the blessing which comes from His abundant hand. He is worthy to be praised.

June 11th

“There are many devices (plans or thoughts) in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel (or purpose) of the Lord, that shall stand.” Proverbs 19:21.

We have many plans and desires in our heart, we set our path and go forward seeing in the future the outcome we desire. But more times than not , those plans and desires never come to fruition. We can become upset and give up, or angry and do something stupid with our lives when this happens, never considering that the Lord’s will may have something else in mind for our lives. For God’s ways are seldom our ways, but they are always best. When our ways don’t work out, draw close to the Lord and follow His Word and His guiding.

June 10th

“And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” II Kings 6:16

There are many enemies of the Cross and of Jesus Christ. Sometimes it seems as if there numbers are insurmountable. The satanic opposition is like an impregnable wall, it seems stronger than us. And it is of course, for he is a fallen angel and we are flesh and blood. But the power of God so far exceeds the power of satan, that we may always triumph over satan by the power of the holy Spirit in Christ, no matter what the satanic assault may be.

June 9th

“Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?” Psalm 10:1

If God fails to answer our prayers it is for one reason only: sin has come between us and God! If we confess our sins our fellowship with God is restored. God will then hear us and answer our prayers according to His will. We cannot afford to let our fellowship with Him be broken because of sin. Stay in His will and see the blessings of God, in everyday life, in trials and problems. For He is our strength and our guidance and our protections.

June 6th

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”

If we allow the Spirit of God to work the first eleven chapters of Romans into our lives and hearts we will , if controlled by the Holy Spirit, present our bodies a living sacrifice , holy, and acceptable unto God. This is the reasonable service of believers, we are to bring glory to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

June 3rd.

“But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!” Matthew 6:23

The eye of our soul is our conscience. If we deny the prodding and warnings of our soul we will turn it off and it will no longer warn us of the evil which will come upon us. When this happens complete darkness will reign and control us and we will be lost. What a horrible way to live and what a horrible ending to our lives it will bring.

June 2nd

“Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter.” Psalm 74:17

The Lord is the controller of the earth. He set the borders of the nations He created the mountains and hills and rivers and the oceans. He made the four seasons and is in control of all things. We need not fear man destroying the world, for God created it, He sustains it, He holds it together with the power of His word. Do not fear what man will tell you, for they seek only to rule over you, and fear is one of their ways. Look to the Word of God and fear His only. Place your faith in Christ today and study His word, follow the guiding of His spirit and live life as He desires under His control. It is the most satisfying way to life.

May 20th

“Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Romans 3:28

Are you delaying in coming to Christ, trying to do good deeds to show that you are worthy of God’s love and grace and salvation? But , you will never be worthy of His love, His grace and His salvation. We can never be worthy no matter how hard we try or what we do. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. This is the only way, no other way is worthy. For we can do nothing to work our way into heaven or to have Salvation. Simply believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.

May 19th

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) II Corinthians 10:4

After receiving Paul’s first letter, the Corinthian church was swayed by false teachers who accused Paul of being proud, unimpressive, and unqualified to be an apostle of Jesus Christ. Recognizing this as spiritual war, Paul sent Titus to Corinth to address this issue.

Every believer needs to know that the opposition that comes their way has its source in evil forces that oppose God and His truth. As Paul himself wrote, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12.

However, we must also realize that everything that comes into a believers life must first go through the filter of a loving God. He has the answer for these problems and His desire is to make us into the image of His dear Son.

May 18th

“For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come” Hebrews 2:5

Some try to tell us that Jesus was an angel; if He were He could never reign in His Kingdom. Some also think that we will be angels when we get to heaven. But not, for angels will never reign, but saints, believers in Jesus Christ will. We will reign with Christ for one thousand years if we have been faithful.

May 17th

“But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.” I Peter 1:25.

If the Bible were not truth, it would die, and would not live forever. Truth lives; while error dies. Jesus said that not one jot, nor title of the law (another name for God’s word) would pass away until all was fulfilled. The Bible could not be truth, and live forever, if it were not a divine revelation from God, for anything man writes is filled with error. Man is imperfect; God is perfect.

May 15th

“But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.” Deuteronomy 4:29.

Carlos Romulo (1899–1985), a Philippine general renowned for his heroic activities during World War II, issued this charge to us Americans. Never forget, Americans, that yours is a spiritual country, Yes, I know you’re a practical people. Like others, I’ve marveled at your factories, your skyscrapers, and your arsenals. But underlying everything else is the fact that America began as a God-loving, God-fearing, God-worshiping people.

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:” Psalm 103:2

Mat 14th.

We must never forget God’s goodness to us, when we do, we will losse His goodness!

” I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.” Psalm 121:1

Our help comes from the Lord. He is our strength in time of need and if we lift our eyes and cast them upon our Saviour He will give us the help we need.

May 13th

“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:21.

What is your treasure? Where is your treasure? Is it becoming the best at something, or to be the richest, or the most powerful, is it on earth or in heaven? This earth will one day be burned up by the Lord and everything in it also. Earthly treasures pass away, but treasures laid up in heaven will never perish. Our heart is attached to our treasures, and if our heart is attached to treasures on this earth there will not be anything laid up in heaven. It will be an eternity without treasures or rewards. Our lives are to be lived to bring GLORY to Christ. Trust Him, place your faith in Him, be the best you can be on this earth, but give Him first place in your heart and trust Him for any treasures on this earth and especially in heaven.

“When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. ” Proverbs 8:3-5.

The perfection of all of God’s creation is man. Not animals. Mankind is a special creation of the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, of the Almighty God, the Judge of all the Earth.

Look at the beauty around us, the flowers, mountains, trees, the uniqueness of the animal kingdom, but when it came to man (male and female) God did a special work. He gave us a free will, a will to be able to serve Him.

But sad to say most of humanity today as throughout history chooses to disobey and reject our creator, our life. For He is our life and length of days.

Make today the day you choose to serve Him, He is our Creator and Master and someday will be our Judge.. Seek the Lord while He may be found. Today! for we have no promise of tomorrow!

May 11th.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17.

If we are to have real faith, it is necessary that we study the Word of God and see what it’s promises are. Once we see the promises of God we must simply believe what it tells us. Trying to believe something we want to believe is not faith. Believing what the “Word of God” say is faith.

May 10th

An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.” ” Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield.” Psalm 33:17,20.

We trust in our own strength, in the strength that humans have devised, but no matter our strength, God’s strength is far greater and far more superior. The believers best strength is in his prayers, for they are heard and answered by the Almighty God Himself. One day the entire world will try to destroy Israel, and they will find the Lord fights against them and will completely destroy them. Ezekiel Chapter 38.

May 9th

“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.” Hebrews 10:35.

There is a hereafter, this life on earth is very short. What is 100 years compared to eternity. How we live our lives on this earth will determine either reward or punishment for all of eternity. Those who believe on the Lord Jesus with their heart will have an eternity with rewards, those who reject the Lord Jesus Christ will have an eternity of punishment. Be wise, place your faith in Christ, following Him is blessings beyond compare.

May 7th.

“Give to him that asketh thee” Matthew 5:42a

If we refuse to give to one who asks us for help, we have closed the door on our own usefulness. Once a person is rejected it is seldom he will ever return again and ask for our assistance. We are to be useful to the Lord. Most importantly if the Holy Spirit directs us to do something for the Lord we must respond in obedience, to refuse to serve the Lord leads to a wasted life.

May 5th

“Quench not the Spirit.” I Thessalonians 5:19

If the Holy Spirit has a new direction for you to go in, or a new task to launch out into, do it. Many of us fail in life because we do not have the courage to obey the inner voice of the Holy spirit in our lives. Our failure is usually because of a lack of faith. Step forward and see where the Lord will take you!

May 3rd.

“The Lord hath done great things for us!” Psalm 126:3.

We don’t need to feel sorry ourselves by constantly reviewing all our troubles. If we do, we will be most miserable, and so will those around us. That is how to become a very lonesome person. The Lord has done many good and wonderful things for us. We need to name them, talk about them, and dwell upon them, and in so doing we will cure ourselves of self pity and have a cheerful spirit. Self pity drives away friends, a cheerful spirit will draw friends.

April 30th

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” I Corinthians 6:19

Our bodies are not our own for we were bought with a price. We were not redeemed with corruptible things, such as silver and gold, but by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Since our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit we should keep it clean and well swept. Our mind should be stayed on Christ, and not the evil of this world. We are to keep our minds clean, for we belong to the Lord.

April 29th

“Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.” Genesis 19:17b

When danger comes and your life is threatened there is no time to fool around. You must have a safe place to run to and be able to get their quickly. And that refuge better be a sure and safe place. There is a judgment day assigned for every person, you better find a safe retreat, a safe place to hide for that day is surely coming. If you aren’t saved place your faith in Christ alone. For He only is the safe retreat in the day of judgment.

April 28th

“Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the Lord, and he shall save thee.” Proverbs 20:22

Vengeance is a poison which destroys the soul and the peace of mind. Vengeance is mine saith the Lord, it is not for us to recompense evil for evil. We need to let the Lord take care of our enemies. Hopefully in the process they will come to salvation, and another soul will spend eternity with the Lord.

April 27th

Genesis 5:22a “And Enoch walked with God.”

Just as Enoch walked with the Lord, so should we do also. God does not walk in the paths of sin, so to walk with Him we must be in obedience to His words and His ways. We must keep our life pure. To do so is to be blessed by Him. Deuteronomy 5:33; “Ye shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.”

April 26th

“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.” Philippians 2:3

Our motives in everything we do is extremely important to God. If we do what others consider good but the motives are selfish; to God they are as filthy rags. And Christians God will rebuke us, we need to be careful. For one day we will stand before Christ and answer for everything we do in this life.

April 25th

When Christ said from the cross, “it is finished”, it was just the beginning

The fear of eternal judgment is behind us. (To those who have accepted CHRIST as their LORD and Saviour.) John 19: 30.

“He said, it is finished.”

April 24th

“And Joseph dreamed a dream.” Genesis 37:5

Nothing worthwhile is ever accomplished until someone dreams a dream, and has a vision of future glory. Before a building can be build, an architect must dream and plan it. Before music is composed, someone must dream and hear it. Do you have a vision? To build you must!

Ralph W. Neighbour Sr. D.D.

April 23rd

Proverbs 15:16 “Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasures and trouble therewith.

What good is riches with trouble. Better is a little with the blessings of the Lord.

April 22nd

“But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” Job 23:10

No matter what may be in our future, the Lord will guide us and keep us. God knows the way, and no matter the trials they will not destroy us if we keep our eyes on the Lord. They are designed to refine us. His eye is on His own and nothing can come into our lives as believers unless they are allowed of Him. keep our eyes on the Lord for He loves us and will bring us forth as gold. May the Lord Jesus Christ be praised!

April 21st

“But one thing is needful:” Luke 10:42a

What is the thing we need to live today. We say it has to be a cellphone, we can’t live without it, or how about a microwave oven, or our computers. Ours cars also, and TV’s, large screen TV’s.

When I was a kid we had only one phone in the house and when we got a second with a longer cord, while we were really living. There were no no microwaves, the TV picture was small, you had to get up to change the channels and volume, and the picture was not that good. But we were happy. None of those things brought real joy or peace in our lives.

If we want real joy and peace, if we want to really enjoy life then there is only one needful thing. That is what Mary wanted in Luke 10:42. It was the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the way to have true Joy, true peace and to have a reason for living.

April 20th

“But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord.” Numbers 14:21

It seems as though the forces of the evil one is taking over the earth. Does that worry you, does that make you despair. Remember we have a living God, He is not dead. Everything is under His control including our lives and our country. God is still on His throne, nothing can dethrone Him. The forces of evil are doing all they can, but He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, He is the all powerful one. Nothing is able to be done without His permission. One day the earth will be filled with his glory and the evil ones will be nowhere to be found. Praise our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for He is the creator and sustain er of the Earth.

April 19th

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6

Listen to what Christ has to say. He is the only Way. Other religions are not the way, there claim is false. If you want to spend eternity with the Lord it has to be through the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

There is only way! Reject it and you will forever curse your own name. Good works will never get you to heaven. Being sincere in what you believe will never get you there either. There is one Way–The Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. He paid the price for our sins at the Cross of Calvary. Don’t be foolish, “trust in the Lord and you will be saved!

April 18th

“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.” Psalm 138:7

When everything goes wrong it is easy to become downhearted. Discouragement and depression are two of the enemies best weapons. However, our God, the Lord Jesus Christ has defeated the enemy, and will keep us through the storms. Look up for our redemption draweth neigh.

April 17th

For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.” Hebrews 13:14

The earth we know and all the treasures of this earth are transitory and will pass away. To put our hope and all our strength, mind, will and emotions into this earth is foolish. Instead we should seek the new heaven and earth to come. Those who place their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ will inherit this new heaven and earth. Should we not put our strength, mind will and emotions into getting ready for the earth where we will spend eternity. The only place to find how we should prepare for this new eternal dwelling place is in the “Word of God.” So be wise and live for eternity.

April 16th

“O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” Romans 7:24

Some teach that you will no longer struggle with sin once you receive Christ. But the Truth is the more faithful and righteous you desire to be, the greater your battle against sin will become. You will see the depths of your heart more clearly and feel the frustration of fighting your flesh, just like Paul, who cried. “Oh wretched man that I am! But praise be to God, we have the Holy Spirit to guide and strengthen us. Through Christ our Lord and Saviour we can become the victor.

April 15th

“Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.” I Samuel 7:12b

You may have absolute confidence as you face the future, for the God who helped you in the past will continue to help you in the future. You cannot and will not fail. If your life is in His hands, to obey His will, you will have perfect peace. Obey Him and succeed. Ralph W. Neighbour

April 14th

“there hath not failed one word of all his good promise.” I Kings 8:56b

There are over 6000 promises in the bible. Not one has ever failed, and not one will ever fail. Trust in the Lord, give Him your heart, claim His promises. They are good promises, and they are given to you to use them.

April 13th

Isaiah 40:29; “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”

They “have no might” in themselves; but in Him they have strength, and He “increases” that strength (2 Co 12:9). “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Are you weak, are you ready to faint under the burden you are carrying. Trust in the the Lord Jesus Christ and He will renew your strength, He will take your burdens and lead you in the correct way.

April 12th

“Harden not your hearts” Hebrews 3:8a

Its easy for us to become cold, hardened, bitter and unsympathetic when we become self centered and selfish. These are all sinful acts. Sin hardens us in our life and we can become mean and cruel. But when we allow the holy Spirit to control our lives, our lives become tender, loving, caring individuals. When we read the “Word of God”, our bibles, spend time in prayer our hearts become tender, caring and loving.

April 11th

Ye have compassed this mountain long enough.” Deuteronomy 2:3

“Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: .” Psalm 37:7a

There are times when God wants us to stand still and hear His word. But we are not to stand still too long. God wants us to go forth and conquer the enemy which lies within us, the old nature, through obedience of His word and the strength of the Holy Spirit. Let us move forward in our Christian lives, becoming what the Lord desires us to be. And give praise to His Holy name.

April 10th

We have God’s word it’s place in our prayers. Prayer is not simply talking to God. It is listening first and then talking. We need our ears to hear what God says to us and then our tongue to answer and then our eye to look for the results. Bible study is the listening side of prayer and then God’s word passes through our heart, and there taking on some of our personality and goes out of our tongue as prayer.

” Luther’s words to those of David were; “Be silent to God and let Him mould thee.”

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God.” Isaiah 41:10

When we walk with the Lord we can be assured that when He gives us a task to do He will help us. Even though the task may look impossible to us, He is the God of the impossible. So do not be dismayed. It is tremendous to have God helping us, we can accomplish whatever He desires through His strength, if we have faith and trust in Him and walk in His ways.

April 8th

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”. II Timothy 2:15.

“I am much afraid that schools will prove t be the great gates of hell unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures, engraving them in the hearts of youth.

I advise no one to place his child where the scriptures do not reign paramount. Every institution in which men are not increasingly occupied with the “Word of God’ must become corrupt.” (Luther)

April 7th

“his praise endureth for ever.” Psalm 111:10b

When God ceases to be God, then you may cease to praise Him, When God no longer has authority, then you need no longer serve Him. When God stops giving to us, we may stop giving to Him. When God discontinues saving souls, we may stop witnessing. But god endureth forever; He changes not, therefore we should be forever faithful. Ralph W. Neighbour

April 6th

“I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.” John 17:4

Jesus didn’t say I have finished all the work, but instead, I have finished the work you have given me to do. At the end of the Gospel of John 21:21, Peter asked Christ, speaking of John; “and what shall this man do?” Christ in effect said, what difference does that make, just follow me and do the work I have for you. Christ’s work is different for each of us. Our prayer should be “Father help me to do the work you have given me to do!

April 5th

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.  In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.   And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:1-3

We will see Him face to face and have fellowship with Him. It will be a celestial city, a place of unbelievable, shining brilliant beauty. And we will have a body which never grows old, or gets tired, or needs rest, for it will be a glorified body as our Saviour’s. We will serve Him joyfully and be there forever. There will never be a dull moment, there will be no evil or anything that defiles or destroys or harms. It will be paradise. Don’t miss it! Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be there. Amen.

April 3rd

“That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;” Ephesians 3:16

The Paraclete (Holy Spirit) was sent by Christ to be our comforter, to come alongside and help us live our lives as God the Father desires us to. He is also our spiritual strength. This is only available to believers, for He not only guides in living our lives for Christ and strengthening us spiritually, He also opens understanding of the Scriptures. When controlled by the love of Christ and are guided by the Holy Spirit and the “Word of God” our lives will be lives lived to their fullest.

April 2nd

16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive . I Corinthians 15:16-22

Christ came to earth to be a sacrifice for the sins of the world. He was crucified on the Cross of Calvary, and buried in an unused grace. If it ended there, we would be most miserable for following a fraud. However Christ did not stay in the grave, He of His own power rose from the dead the third day. This is the history of Easter. Place your faith in Christ and you to will be raised from the dead and spend eternity in joy and happiness with Christ the Creator and sustainer of the earth.

April 1st

“But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: 14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. I Corinthians 15:13-14

All the resurrection promises in the Old Testament center around the coming of the Redeemer, the Savior, the Messiah. Christ had to come or else all those in the Old Testament who died in faith would have died in vain.

Likewise, without the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave, the hope of all Christians for eternal life would be in vain. However Christ came to this earth, lived a perfect life and freely of His own will went to the Cross of Calvary and gave His life a sacrifice to pay for the sins of the world.

Our preaching is not in vain for He did raise from the grave and all who put their faith and trust in Him will likewise be raised from the grave. For He is our life and length of days. Make this the best Easter you have ever had, place your faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

March 31st

Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him. Matthew 26:14-16

There were but twelve called apostles, and one of them was like a devil; surely we must never expect any society to be quite pure on this side heaven. The greater profession men make of religion, the greater opportunity they have of doing mischief, if their hearts be not right with God. Observe, that Christ’s own disciple, who knew so well his doctrine and manner of his life, and was false to him, could not charge him with any thing criminal, though it would have served to justify his treachery. What did Judas want? Was not he welcome wherever his Master was? Did he not fare as Christ fared? It is not the lack, but the love of money, that is the root of all evil. After he had made that wicked bargain, Judas had time to repent, and to revoke it; but when lesser acts of dishonesty have hardened the conscience men do without hesitation that which is more shameful. Matthew Henry

May we love the Lord Jesus Christ with all our heart, mind and strength, and give praise to His holy name.

March 30th

“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.” Isaiah 53:3

Isaiah 53 is the heart of the gospel. It talks of Jesus Christ who was sent by God the Father to be the Messiah of Israel and the Saviour of the entire world. He was despised and rejected of all men. He is still despised by most of the world today. Most religions are tolerated and even discussed in schools, except for Christ. We were born dead in trespasses and sins with a hatred towards Christ. He is held in low esteem by most, and indifference by the majority of others. While we were sinners God gave His only begotten son to die on the cross for my sin and the sin of the entire world. . To reject Christ is to reject life, to reject truth. Without Him there is only eternal punishment, for He gave His life to save us from an eternity of hopelessness of hell. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Won’t you trust in Him today.

March 29th

“And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.” John 19:38

We cannot be a force for good until we declare ourselves to be on the side of Christ. There are too many secret disciples of Christ like Joseph of Arimathaea. It was following the death of Christ on the cross that he openly declared his love and dedication to Christ. It was this circumstance that forced him to come out in the open of who he served. May we not wait until circumstances dictate it before we declare who we are and who we serve.

March 28th

Ephesians 5:1-2 “Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.”

Because God, for Christ’s sake, has forgiven us, we are to be followers of God, imitators of God. Especially in his love and goodness, for it becomes us, the beloved by their heavenly Father, to show this love to those around us. In Christ’s sacrifice his love triumphs, we need to be proclaimers of God’s truth in love, we are to glorify Christ our Saviour and Lord and walk in the light of His Word.

March 27th

“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.” Hebrews 11:8

If we obey God only when we are able to see what He is doing we will never obey Him. He is Sovereign, He knows all, we are finite creatures, He is infinite. His knowledge and understanding is as far beyond ours than the distance from the earth to the farthest universe which He has created. If we desire to do His will in our lives then we must believe and obey and do what He gives us to do. Trust and obey for there is no other way, is a statement that as believers we must put into their lives.

March 27th

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

The Word of God is like a lion. You don’t have to defend a lion. All you have to do is let the lion loose, and the lion will defend itself. Charles Spurgeon

March 26th

“The rich man died also” Luke 16:22

This man died with a failed life! You may say how so, he was a rich man. Yes a rich man in things of this earth. He ended only the first chapter of his life, his life on this earth. But what about the second chapter, the eternal one. He failed to concern himself about his eternal soul and gave no concern for life following this earth. His wealth and fame are now gone and he will forever be spiritually bankrupt in a world without any blessings, a world of punishment. Please don’t make the same mistake. Jesus Christ died on the cross of Calvary to pay for our sins, believe on Him and ask forgiveness of your sins. Eternity is long, but He made it possible to end your life in victory. Not because of your greatness, but because of His. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.

March 24th

Isaiah 26:3 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

A heart and mind that focuses and is stayed on the Lord will have perfect peace. Even in times of trouble when doubts curtail our peace think on Him. Our lives are to be lived to Glorify our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Think on Him, trust in Him and you will have His peace even in the midst of turmoil. Praise His name forever.

March 23rd

“For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.” Psalm 100:5

The Lord is a God of infinite mercy and grace:

TITLE. A Psalm of Praise; or rather of thanksgiving. This is the only psalm bearing this precise inscription. It is all ablaze with grateful adoration, and has for this reason been a great favourite with the people of God ever since it was written. “Let us sing the Old Hundredth” is one of the every-day expressions of the Christian church, and will be so while men, exist whose hearts are loyal to the Great King. Nothing can be more sublime this side heaven than the singing of this noble psalm by a vast congregation. Watts’ paraphrase, beginning “Before Jehovah’s awful throne, “and the Scotch “All people that on earth do dwell, “are both noble versions; and event Tare and Brady rise beyond themselves when they sing–

“With one consent let all the earth
To God their cheerful voices raise.”

In this divine lyric we sing with gladness the creating power and goodness of the Lord, even as before with trembling we adored his holiness.

Charles Spurgeon

March 22nd

Philippians 4:6-7 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

When we spend time in prayer talking and listening to the Lord He will give us His peace. Not the peace of the world, but the peace of God. It will keep our hearts and minds from worry and concern. Therefore spend time with Him and the Lord will give a peaceful heart and joy within the soul.

March 21st.

Proverbs 30:4 “Who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell?”

Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 2:4 said that God created the earth (dry land). Genesis 1:9-10 said that God caused the waters to gather together causing dry land (earth) to appear. So God CREATED the earth by moving aside the water so that the dry land could APPEAR. God has established the earth, and it will exist in all its seasons until it is His will to remake it.

God has a Son, His name is Jesus Christ, 100% God and 100% man. Men deny the deity of Christ and say He is not mentioned in the Old Testament. But it is the Old Testament which tells of Him. Man believes they are in control but they are not. Some say climate change will destroy all life on this planet and that we must act quickly to save our lives and the planet. Christ holds it together by the power of His word, and puny man has nothing to say about it.

“Climate Change” is just deceitful men and women desiring to rule over us. Who do we think we are? God! Be careful, for the pride and deceit of man has sealed the fate of millions. Trust the Lord Jesus Christ, for He is the all powerful one, and to Him one day we must all give an account . This earth will stand with its seasons until He declares it to end. So stop being concerned by the fear mongering of those who think they are something, but are nothing before Him.

March 20th

“No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.” Luke 8:16

Do we cover our light with an inconsistent life. If we do we need to draw closer to the Lord, to spend much time in prayer and Bible study. It is only as our minds are stayed on Him that we are able to live a life that is able to bring Glory to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and to be a witness to those around us.

March 18th

Numbers 35:33 “So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.”

Psalm 106:38 “And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.”

Numbers 35:30 “Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die.”

The land is defiled by innocent blood. This was true in the Old Testament and is true today as well. It cannot be cleansed, appeased or pardoned until the guilty party’s life is forfeited. (This is the job of the government, not of the individual, I repeat not of the individual, for if you do take the murderers life then you also are a murderer in the eyes of God) Pagans in the past had child sacrifice, but you say we do not have child sacrifice today in this country.

I beg to disagree with you. Since Roe v. Wade in 1973; Over 61,628,584 babies have been killed, murdered by abortion. Lets put that in perspective; The latest data released by the U.S. Census Bureau showed the population of the state of New York in 2019 was 19.5 million people. New York is the fourth largest state in the United States.

Now abortion is not called child sacrifice or murder. And the victims are not called children. Different terms are used in an attempt to hide the reality of what is actually happening in this modern-day holocaust. Terms like fetal tissueabortionpro-choicewomen’s rightswomen’s health care, and other words are used to hide a reality: the killing of a human being made in the image of God! It’s murder! It’s child sacrifice.

Romans chapter 1 makes it clear that God will pour out His wrath in judgment upon a culture that rebels against Him. I suggest that perhaps God is now judging the nations that have shed the blood of millions of children sacrificed to the god of self. And the blood of over 61 million babies is a lot of blood crying out to God for judgment upon this land.

March 17th

2 Corinthians 4:16-17 ” but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;”

Our outward man does perish daily. We don’t notice this until we get older or our health begins to go downhill. The graveyard reminds us that we are not invincible and one day our fleshly lives will come to an end. We must remember that we are given only a certain numbers of days on this life, each person is different and that day could come at any moment.

For those who have never believed on the Lord Jesus Christ eternity will be one of hopelessness, but for those who have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ it will be a brand new beginning. A beginning full of hope, blessings and seeing our Saviour face to face. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. May you do this today!

March 16th

Ruth 3:18 “Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day.”

This was good advice to Ruth, and it is very good advice to us. Faith tells us to sit down and patiently wait upon the Lord in order to know and do the Lord’s will in our lives. Worry and impatience has no place in the life of a believer. Wait upon the Lord, don’t rush ahead, and don’t lag behind. Allow the Lord to guide and direct our lives, in this way we will be a productive Christian for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

March 15th

“And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.” Mark 6:32

Who wants to go to a desert place? Is there anything there, Nothing! So what is the point? We need to get alone with God without any detractions from the world around us. We need this alone place where we can talk with and listen to God to recharge our souls and spirits with divine power. It is impossible to hear His voice with all the noise and interference of the world around us, and without hearing His voice we are not able to live a life pleasing to Him.

March 14th

Psalm 23:4 “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”

There is coming a day when each of us will face death. How many times in our lives has the Lord protected us from harm and death that we have no way of knowing. For a believer Christ is our Lord and Saviour and protector. We are in the hollow of His hand and He will protect us, for the length of our days are determined by Him. So we should not fear evil, and when as a believer we walk through the valley of the shadow of death only. Why? Because to be absent from the body is to be present with our Saviour. Death is only a shadow to us, our true live begins when we are in the presence of Christ.

March 13th

“And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?” Luke 14:27-28

We must count the cost for serving our Lord, consider it will cost the mortifying of our sin, even our most loved lusts. The proudest and most daring sinner cannot stand against God, for who knows the power of his anger? It is to our interest to seek peace with him. In some way a disciple of Christ will be put to the trial, to try His faith and love for His Lord and Saviour. May we seek to truly be His disciples, and be careful not to grow slack in our service to Him, or fear of the cross, and whatever we may face in the world. So that we may become the salt of the earth, to season those around us with the savor and blessings of Christ. And to add to those who will spend eternity with Him, blessed be His name forever.

March 12th

Proverbs 14:34 “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”

A nation’s real greatness consists not in its conquests, magnificence, military or artistic skill, but its obeying the “Word of God”. The nation that forgets God’s laws and puts mans law in prominence over God’s Word will ultimately come to slavery and destruction. History proves this. Nations walk in disobedience to God’s way and ultimately they are destroyed. America has turned its back on the God of the universe and will ultimately pay the penalty. May our leaders turn to the Lord and may we as Americans turn to the Lord also. He is our only hope and Salvation.

March 10th

Luke 24:11 “And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.”

Idle tales are another way of saying something is “utter nonsense.” The “Word of God” has always been scoffed at, ridiculed, made fun of by those who refuse to even look into the Scriptures. In this verse they are talking about those who refused to believe in the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Scripture tells us to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. For all others are false gods and false prophets.

Today we are seeing the banning of books and movies because of racist and insensitive imagery, and the beginning of segregation and calling it something else. These books and movies are banned, because those behind it have a hidden, evil agenda, which they do not want any of us to know. But yet pornography must be considered okay. First you ban voices which disagree with you, then ban books, then ban movies. Wald Disney’s “Dumbo” and “Peter Pan” for a few. Next will be the banning of the “Bible” the “Word of God.” Next will be our freedom! Always be leery of those who promise you everything, there is usually deceit in their hearts.

So Jesus said to the Jews (and says to all people) who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples,  and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32.

The “Word of God” is the only thing that can set a person or a nation free. Don’t be hoodwinked by those who will soon ban this book because of their bias and hatred of the Lord Jesus Christ. For Christ said “the truth will set you free.” Watch out for the smooth tongued, they have only misery planned for this country.

March 9th

“The devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;” Matthew 4:8

Can you imagine seeing the glory of all the kingdoms of the earth, all their splendor and majesty. But Christ had seen the glory of heaven, and compared to heaven the glory of the kingdoms of the earth would be pretty pathetic. How could earths appeal be anything after seeing true glory, the glory of heaven. For those of us who have believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, when we see the glory of heaven and especially the glory of our Saviour, the glory of earth will instantly pass away!

March 8th

“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” Psalm 9:17

This should be a fearful thought to every person on this earth. For hell is real, real people go there, real people are there in torment right now!. It is a horrible place, but Jesus Christ died that none would ever go there. He paid the price on the Cross of Calvary so we would be with Him in eternity instead of in a place of endless suffering. John 3:16 tells us how to escape hell; “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Don’t listen to those who say; “there is no God, so there can be no hell.” Or to those that say; “there may be a God but it’s silly to think of people being in hell, or to those who say; “there is a God, but a God of love and he will not send anyone to hell.” If you listen to them you will end up in the same hell as they will be. For God is a loving God, but a Just God, and those who reject His Son, Jesus Christ will soon understand the lies above, but it will be too late. Be wise and do as John 3:16 tells you. You will forever be thankful.

March 7th

“And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord…Save that the high places were not removed… And the Lord smote the king, so that he was a leper.” II Kings 15:3-5

No matter how much good you do, the good will never justify the evil you do. No man is perfect, therefore our only hope is in a Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Psalm 25:5 “Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.”

Psalm 31:3; “For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.”

The Lord is our rock and our fortress, we can depend upon Him in the circumstances of our lives. He is dependable, He will guide is in the correct way to go and He is the hope of the believer. Not a wishful type of hope, but hope in the Bible is a consistent hope, a confident expectation, an assuredness of our future. It is a promise of what He will do, and His word is truth and He always preforms His word.

So trust in the Lord, for what He tells us He will bring it to pass! Praise the Lord!

1 John 5:14-15 “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”

Upon a quick reading it sounds like God will answer any of our prayers. So when we pray and the answer isn’t what we want it to be, or there seems to be no answer we get mad at the Lord. But look closely, there is a prerequisite to our prayers. “If we ask anything according to His will! He answers prayer that are in agreement with His will, not our will, and He answers it in His way and in His timing.

Mrs. Billy Graham once told a group f ladies that God had not answered all of her prayers. And she was glad He didn’t. She said, “If He had, I would have been married to the wrong man…several times.” (Taken from the Penna. State Sunday School Association, letter.)

If we want our prayers answered, then they must be in God’s will, in His timing, and in His way. In other words “not our will”, but “God’s will!”

Acts 7:18 “Till another king arose, which knew not Joseph.”

Things change from day to day. Today everything seems to be going great, when suddenly something unexpectedly happens. Its like a storm which instantly breaks upon us. And they usually come at inopportune times in our lives. As believers we don’t always act as we should and our witness of Christ falters. These times of testing allow us to see our faith and trust, which is not always as it should be. Our eyes are pulled away from our Saviour, Jesus Christ, upon the current circumstances. We can be rude and unkind during these times. But, get our eyes back on the Lord and He will carry us through the storm. Those dark clouds before us will give way the sunshine of another day. The sun will shine again. We must trust and obey.

Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 5:8-9 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:”

There it is in a nutshell. The world looks for the fountain of youth, to live forever and these five verses show the way. Jesus Christ is the way to eternal life, we have death because we are sinners and have an old nature of sin, but He loved us and died for us. Not one of us is righteous, and only those with Christ’s righteousness will receive eternal life. For Jesus Christ is our life and our length of days, but only to those who place their faith in Him. To reject Him is to choose eternal death, be wise, for there is no other way to have eternal life. With Him there is hope, without Him all is hopeless!

Mark 6:48 “And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.”

Christ’s disciples were literally distressed for their lives, the wind and the waves were against them and they were making no headway as they fought against the storm. The word “toiling” literally means to be tormented or distressed. This they were as they were no doubt exhausted rowing against the raging sea. Their spirit was in fear as they struggled through out the night. But Christ in their trouble came to them.

It seems life is full of problems, some small, some larger, but in God’s loving eyes they are not problems. He allows these testing’s to come into our lives in order that we throw ourselves at His knees asking for His guidance and help. It’s times like these that we see His love and saving grace for us. It also allows us to see how strong our faith in Christ is. It’s the storms of life that strengthen our faith in our Saviour . Through these testing’s we learn and can see that no matter what comes upon us, He is our rock, He is our Salvation. Even though we don’t like these problems, testing’s, He has designed them for our good. May we allow these times in our lives to draw us closer to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

The original text says, “we are His Poem.” You are a work of Divine creation. The Lord composed you, and as a sculptor hews and image out of the rock and creates a work of art. God has taken you, a poor lost sinner and made you his own creation of beauty. (Ralph W. Neighbour Sr. D.D.)

Obadiah 1:4 “The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground? Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.”

This prophecy is against Edom, however, it is against any nation that magnifies itself against God. He can easily make void those who magnify and exalt themselves over Him, and He will do it. Our fleshly security puffs us up and brings us to ruin, and our pride makes the ruin worse when it comes. We in our puffed up pride put our wisdom above that of the Lord.

Perhaps that is what has happened to America. We have put our wisdom above His. We now call what He said is Good we say is Evil! We say what He says is Evil, that it is Good! “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.” Isaiah 5:20-25

When those in power destroy others, when they call evil good, and good evil they will be turned and oppressed and destroyed themselves. Those called to places of responsibility and trust and power, should seek God’s grace and mercy, and humble themselves before the Lord. For they will ultimately answer to the Lord Jesus Christ.

February 27th

I Timothy 2: 2-5: I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;”

The Lord is concerned about all men and women on the earth. First of all He wants us to pray and give thanks for all men. We are to pray for those in authority that we may lead a life on this earth that is quiet and peaceable. He also wants every man and woman to be saved; are we as concerned as He is? Most of the world is unsaved and wants nothing to do with the Lord. What are we doing to bring others to salvation? May the Lord convict our hearts that we may show the way, show how the Lord Jesus Christ paid the price for our salvation and all of mankind. For He is the only way to God, for He paid the price, and all other ways lead to eternal death. Pray that the eyes of men and women are opened to truth. For Christ is the way, the truth and the life, the only way!

February 26th

Obadiah 1:15 “For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.”

This is the golden rule in reverse! Those who do evil will be recompensed evil upon their own heads. Our deeds do come back to us. A merciful God will be just as merciful to you as you have been merciful to others. We cannot get away with evil, for God sees all and knows all, and recompenses evil for evil. Instead be wise and give your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ, while you still may do so.

February 25th

“The Lord is good,  a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.” Nahum 1:7

It is only those who put their faith and trust in the Lord that know how good He is. He loves His own and is magnificent and wonderful to them. In our days of struggle we need to seek the Lord for He is our stronghold. Satan cannot touch a believer who is hidden in Christ Jesus. Those who do not put their trust in Christ have no idea what they are missing. Praise the Lord for He is Good!

February 24th

Isaiah 40:28 : “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.”

Hast thou not known is a reproof from the Lord! He wants us to know that He is willing and able to deliver us from our problems and troubles. Why? Because He is the Creator of all that exists. He created the mountains, the oceans, the beautiful sky, everything that is good. He never tires, He never becomes weary, His eyes see us at all times and He knows our frame that we are but dust.

His ways are unsearchable for He is much higher than us. If He had not sought us first, we would never be able to know Him. His Word, the Bible, is a guide in our lives on this earth and in eternity. Read it, study it, believe it, for it is the truth and speaks of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. He asks us to put our trust in Him, believe Him, obey His commands and He will lead us and guide us. During troubling times throw yourself into His loving arms and you will never be disappointed. All that seek Him will find Him, for He never turns away a true seeking heart.

“A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.” Matthew 12:35

It’s an easy thing for rivers or streams to run downhill and for apple trees to bear apples isn’t it? In the same way it is not hard for a man or woman walking under the control of the Holy Spirit and in whom God dwells to do good deeds. What is in the heart will reveal itself, and the Lord in the heart produces many good deeds. A heart without the Lord will ultimately produce evil deeds. Scripture tells us we shall know them by their works!

February 22nd

Romans 12:2; “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

“First, he brought me here, it is by His wilI I am in this strait place: in that fact I will rest.

Next, he will keep me here in His love, and give me grace to behave as his child.

Then, He will make the trial a blessing, teaching me the lessons He intends me to learn, and working in me the grace He means to bestow.

Last, in his good time He can bring me out again–how and when He knows.

Let me say I am here.

  1. By God’s appointment; 2. In His keeping; 3. Under His training; 4. For His time.”

Give God time to reveal Himself to you. Give yourself time to be silent and quiet before Him, waiting to receive, through the Spirit, the assurance of His presence with you, His power working in you. Take time to read His word as in His presence, that from it you may know what He asks of you and what He promises you.”

From Andrew Murray’s The Secret of Adoration

February 21

He must increase, but I must decrease.” John 3:30

Most or our battle is with “self”. Self wants to be in control of our lives, and that is truly a battle. How much of self controls our life is dependent upon how much we allow Christ to be in control of our lives. But when Christ becomes pre-eminent in our lives self dies. That should be the goal of our lives, to allow Christ to be pre-eminent.

February 20th

Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. II Corinthians 5:17,21

February 19th

“One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.” Ecclesiastes 1:4

Each generation through their laws, beliefs, morality and goals produces the world in which they live. They pass off the scene and a new generation comes into power. What kind of a world did we in this generation produce. Loss of morality, ungodly, greedy, power hungry leaders. The next generation will slide downward still more. This is the slide of society’s. A downward spiral from the godly to the ungodly, from the moral to the immoral, from leaders who lead, to leaders who enslave. What are we doing to make the world and mankind what the Lord wants it to be. The light of Jesus Christ is the only hope for a society to remain free. Pray for our nation, for our leaders, pray for the mercy of the Lord!

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11

Isn’t it a shame that so many speak as the false prophets of Israel. False prophets flatter with their lips because people love to be flattered. They speak smooth words to get what they want.

False prophets and liars always use silky words to get their way. They always have their own desires in mind, not any others. Their words cross their lips like butter, smooth and silky, they use deceit until they get what they want, then their true selves come out.

They are dangerous for life and our soul, beware of them, for no matter their goal the Lord of Heaven and Earth watches over us. He thinks thoughts of peace and not of evil towards us. The Lord tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” The Lord is our peace, our security and our safety. His words are true, their is no deceit in His lips. He will direct our paths He will lead us in the way to go. We have a good God, one we can completely trust. The Lord Jesus Christ is His name.

February 17th

And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.” Romans 4:21

Do we actually believe God can do all things? Do we really love and trust our Lord and Saviour? Or are we as the Israelites when they were in the wilderness, constantly unsatisfied and always complaining.? The Lord loves us and guides our lives! This being true we are able trust Him, no matter what happens, it is for our best. He constantly watches over us. He will not allow evil to overtake us, He is able to deliver, we need only trust in His loving care and worship Him as our Lord and Saviour! For He is the Mighty One, there is none that can compare to Him, the Awesome Creator and Sustainer of the Universe and us! Praise His Holy name!

February 16th

The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. Psalm 18:2-3

When the winds of trouble come into our lives it’s good to have a deliverer, a fortress, a rock to trust in. Men fail us, but God never will, He is our strength, He is our salvation and protector. He is worthy to be praised, He will save us from our enemies. This prayer of David is an encouragement when life goes topsy-turvy, when everything goes bad and we don’t know where to turn or what to do. We can lean on His strong arms and know that He will keep us. He kept Daniel in the Lions den, and the three Hebrew children when they were thrown into the fiery furnace. Even if the Lions would have destroyed Daniel and the three Hebrew children had been consumed by the fiery furnace, the Lord would have kept them unto Himself. This is a promise of God to His children.

But this promise is only to those who have placed their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. So won’t you place your faith and trust in Him, there is none other who will love and care for you as much as He. This doesn’t mean there won’t be any problems or heartaches or troubles in our lives, it means He will keep us through them, and give us His joy. Praise His Holy name forever, for He is worthy!

Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain.” Psalm 127:1

Benjamin Franklin said: ” The longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?….except the Lord builds the house they labor in vain that build it.” I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without His concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel: We shall be divided…our projects will be confounded. And what is worse, mankind may hereafter…despair of establishing Governments by Human Wisdom and leave it to change, war, and conquest.

I therefore…move that henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven…be held in this assembly every morning before we proceed to business.

God answered the prayers: on September 17, 1787, the draft was completed, supporting Franklin’s assertion: that they should fail in this “grand experiment” of liberty unless they sought the “assistance of Heaven.”If we build our government on our own wisdom leaving the Lord out of it we will find that evil men and women will control every decision in our lives. It is only through the Lord and His Word is their wisdom that will give freedom to its citizens. Men enslave, the Lord gives freedom. The day our country forgets the Lord and does what it desires, we will see our freedoms eroding, and the leaders becoming evil despots. Look at our country, and decide for yourself!

February 14th

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;” II Timothy 4:3

Sound doctrine is only found in the Word of God and only delivered by pastors who preach the whole counsel of God. Therefore there are and always have been those who do not want to hear the truth of the Gospel preached. They search out teachers who will preach a message that is not from God. In the Old Testament false prophets abounded and they spoke lies claiming them to be from God. Today is the same, and perhaps becoming worse. For there are many, many teachers who say they proclaim the Word of God but are false teachers, teaching with smooth words what men want to hear. For men desire to hear what tickles their ears. Words that will calm their souls and allow them to continue in their sin. False teachers lead their flocks to the Lake of Fire, while teachers of Sound Doctrine lead the way to Eternal Life. Life is Short–Eternity is forever, choose wisely whom you will listen to.

“And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.”

I Corinthians 12:21

Just as our bodies cannot say they have no need of the feet, nor to our eyes that we don’t need you. We all need one another to make one complete body, the church. Since our Lord gives the gifts He desires each of us to have we can trust His wisdom and Grace. His way is never wrong for He is Holy and Righteous and Just and is working in each of us to make us into the image of His dear Son. And so He has given all believers gifts of His choosing, Individual gifts hand picked by Him, and each of those are unique when combined with our personalities. No gift is more important than another gift and we all need each other. May God be glorified forever!
